In Beira, Mozambique, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams provide health services aimed at vulnerable and stigmatized people including sex workers, men who have sex with men, and at-risk youth.
Through community clinics and peer support workers, MSF offers HIV testing, counseling, and contraception services, as well as prevention activities and health education.
One of the main goals of the project, according to MSF Support Activities Supervisor Cristina Laila Zamudine, “is to empower female sex workers for them to have more autonomy on how to protect themselves from some diseases and to know how to connect with health centers.”
